As this issue hits your doormat, we will be well into lockdown. None of us could have imagined that we would be in this situation, let alone the effect it would have on the sports and leisure catering industry. As the coronavirus pandemic has unfolded, it has brought with it much uncertainty – but measures have been put into place by the government to relieve some of the pressure our industry is experiencing. This issue has been adapted to bring you the relevant news from recent weeks, including details of help offered by the government and how the industry is helping our community. Our interview with Hospitality Action details the Covid-19 emergency appeal offering a lifeline to all those in hospitality. You will, of course, also be able to read some of our regular news and features – there’s an update from Heritage Portfolio and one of its venues, the National Museum of Scotland, is featured on the cover. There are also features on energy, sports and health drinks and hot dogs, pizzas and pies. Hopefully, by the time the next issue of Sports and Leisure Catering magazine appears, we’ll be well on the way to recovery. Until then, stay safe and well.
